In honor of the Hendrick’s Gin I received from BzzAgent with a mail-in rebate, which results in a hefty discount. I haven’t used the rebate yet.
I had a girl’s night in to celebrate this unique gin. Before
this party, I was quite unfamiliar with gin. Now I really like it, but it may
be a bit too pricey for me.
The average bottle of Hendrick’s is over $30.00. The smell
and taste do have me hooked, so I definitely think it’s worth this price. I’m
just not sure it’s something the average mom can afford. I know I won’t be scrambling
to pick up another bottle soon, and I didn’t even pay for the first one. Now on
to my Tipple, or Curious Cocktail!

To the right are the drinks my friends and I drank at our girl’s night
in celebration. It’s a slight variation of the Hendrick’s Breeze. At first we
were making these drinks perfect, but then we started changing up the garnishes
and things.
This is a traditional Hendrick’s Breeze:
Ingredients:
1 ½ parts Hendrick’s Gin
2 parts white cranberry juice
splash of Fresca
Preparation:
Build over ice in a tall glass.
Garnish with orange and lemon wheel.
Our variations on this Tipple included swapping the garnishes
to garnish with cranberries on a toothpick and eventually just using white cran
and gin, leaving out the Fresca. We ran out of Fresca and the drink was still
really good. We also didn't use tall glasses. We used short glasses and some plastic martini glasses, depending on preference.

Overall, it was a terrific night and I can thank BzzAgent for that. If you’re curious how you can host parties like this, just leave a comment and I’ll explain all about BzzAgent and House Party, two awesome sites that hook you up with freebies.

How fun! Haven't had a "social" yet LOL!! Might "steal" your idea! Thanks :D
ReplyDeleteBe my guest! I don't have a patent on the idea. I think some girls in the 1950s likely came up with a girls night, back when women used to get bored and play cards together, to gossip about men and the changing world.
DeleteSounds fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa! It really was.
DeleteLooks like you ladies had fun!! :)

DeleteGreat review...sounds great! Makes me want to go try some ...i used to like gin and 7up.....but fresca would be awesome
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely great tasting. I'm a big fan of the Hendrick's Breeze now. They're tasty, but I'd like to try some of the other recipes in the book.
DeleteI used to enjoy the Tanqueray or the Bombay Sapphire martini on occasion (meaning daily) and yes, I can make an exquisite martini ;-) Both are priced slightly less than the Hendrick's but I never even bothered to try it because its intimidating, high-end bottle had me thinking it was prohibitively expensive. If you are in a position to provide the brand feedback, you might want to let them know that. Unless it's just me, of course. Had I known that it was only a few bucks more than my brands, I totally would've purchased and Hendrick's would've totally made bank off me. What a fun campaign & mixing with Fresco sounds mmmmmmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteYes - gin & Fresca sooo yummy! Had one last Saturday, actually. Love Bombay Sapphire now, but haven't tried Tanqueray.
